To download a bank statement as a PDF, sign in to your bank's official website or app, choose the account, and look for Statements or Documents. Select the statement period, open the document, and use its Download or Save option. Exact labels depend on the bank, country, and account type.
Download a statement on a computer
- Open your bank's official website and sign in yourself.
- Select the checking, savings, or credit card account you need.
- Find Statements, Documents, or a similar document area.
- Choose the month or statement period and open the bank-issued statement.
- Use Download, Save, or the PDF viewer's download button to save the original file.
- Open the saved file from your Downloads folder and confirm the account, period, and page count.
A transaction activity screen is not always the same as a monthly statement. If you need a statement for an application or an official record, use the document issued by the bank and check the recipient's requirements.
Save a bank statement PDF on a phone
Open the account's statement area in the official banking app. After choosing the period, look for a download or share control. Save the PDF to Files, Downloads, or another location you can find again. The available action depends on the app and your phone.
If the app only displays transactions, try the bank's official website or its support instructions. Avoid taking screenshots of each page when an original PDF is available: screenshots can lose text quality or leave out rows.

Download PDF or export transactions?
A statement PDF preserves the bank's document layout and balances. A CSV or Excel transaction export is a table for analysis or import. If your bank already provides the table you need, use that download directly instead of converting a PDF.
For example, a completed September statement and a transaction export covering September 1–30 may differ if one uses posting dates and the other uses a different date filter. Check the dates and totals before treating the files as interchangeable.
If you cannot find or save the statement
The latest month is missing: the statement may not have been issued yet. Check the account's closing date and ask your bank when the document becomes available.
An older period is missing: available history depends on the bank and account. Request an archived copy from the bank rather than creating a replacement document.
The viewer opens without saving: use its download control. If there is no downloadable document, ask the bank whether a PDF is available. Printing a web activity page to PDF does not necessarily reproduce an official statement.
The file needs a password: use the password instructions supplied by your bank. For conversion preparation, follow our password-protected PDF guide.
Check the PDF before converting
Confirm every page is present, the text is readable, and the account and currency are correct. Prefer one account and currency per conversion. Keep the bank-issued original and use a separate working copy if changes are necessary.
When you need editable rows, choose the bank statement to Excel tool or bank statement to CSV tool. For QuickBooks import preparation, use the PDF to QBO guide. Review the extracted transactions against the PDF before importing or reporting.
